Silica incorporated cellulose fibres as green concept for textiles with reduced flammability

چکیده

• Incorporation of silica reduces flammability viscose fibres. Wash permanency can be improved by formation aluminium silicate. Dyeability aluminosilicate modified fibres remains unchanged. Silica residues remain during combustion and act as a barrier for oxygen. forms green approach to flame retardant textiles. Safety requirements led widespread use textile products with reduced flammability. The global production nearly 3 million tons retardants generates substantial environmental burden both synthesis the chemicals disposal waste In this work cleaner technology impart is presented, which bases on incorporation 20%wt into cellulose fibre matrix stage formation. Stabilisation against unwanted leaching washing procedures was achieved treatment aluminate, reacts under less soluble aluminosilicate. This successfully combined reactive dyeing step where no precipitation dyes, losses in colour depth or fastness dyeings occurred. Substantial reduction time afterglowing (-82%) length destroyed material (-90%) were observed standard tests ignitability bedclothes. regenerated offers alternative rather polluting finishing processes used today. these particular value worn next skin, irritating skin avoided.

Antimicrobial efficiency of functionalized cellulose fibres as potential medical textiles

This chapter presents an overview of methods for cellulose fibres functionalization in order to introduce antimicrobial activity. In view the need for ecologically friendly textiles antimicrobial finishing is introduced, together with some strategies for the functionalization of fibres using biodegradable polysaccharides such as the use of chitosan. Additionally, the methods used for the microb...

Hemp Fibres as Novel Green Support Material for Immobilization of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans

The suitability of hemp fibres as green support material for immobilization of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans cells in ferrous iron bio-oxidation process was investigated. A series of experiments were carried out in shake flasks and bioreactor for both cell immobilization and iron bio-oxidation. In flask experiments, five successive batch colonization cycles resulted in 6-fold increase...

Aniline incorporated silica nanobubbles

We report the synthesis of stearate functionalized nanobubbles of SiO2 with a few aniline molecules inside, represented as C6H5NH2@SiO2@stearate, exhibiting fluorescence with red-shifted emission. Stearic acid functionalization allows the materials to be handled just as free molecules, for dissolution, precipitation, storage etc. The methodology adopted involves adsorption of aniline on the sur...
